Mountain Angel Poem by Elliott Rosenberg

Mountain Angel

When I was young and pretty i smiled,
As I aged i smiled too.
As I searched for love and faulted,
I held a smile too.

When innocence coveted prudence,
And the mountain shed its pines.
A somber moon accompanied me,
A crescent smile too.

Now I am weak and weary,
life has struck me down,
A piece of manna I have found,
to feed a bird of prey.

This sentinel bird upon a mountain truly is an angel,
A kindred Vörðr amid the stars,
an apparition of my desires.

This angel has a silhouette,
formed of heavenly clouds,
A woman of radiant morals,
Who infuses hope to all.

And as we feed each other,
A frigid rain keeps us together.
For now.
For now.
We smile as one.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to Isdal, gods angel who appeared to me as manna on a frigid Norwegian mountain top. Her presence brings blessings of heavens candor. Her demeanor feeds the soul. And so I dedicate this poem to those that pray for angels. Tromso, Norway September 6th,2023.
