Mouth Of The River Poem by Dorsey Baker

Mouth Of The River

You feel lightheaded as a feather
When you walk
Across the bridge of the river
Thinking of the river
As a place where
Your tears might fall in
Go under
A place where
Your heart might find some comfort
Your mind some rest
Your eyes follow
The river as it rolls along
In slow motion
And you are so afraid
That it might take control of you
Body and soul
Pull you in and
Suck you with its tongue
