Mouthy - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Mouthy - Lincoln Park Zoo

Tawny frogmouth - humans call me.
Humans make names up for the birds,
On first impression that they see,
So names oft end up with weird words.
I s'pose somewhere a frog does hop,
Called a greenie bird mouth, becuz
Sometime, someplace, some human stop,
Made mind over matter, thus 'twas.
Human mouths - I do see a lot,
Visiting at Lincoln Park Zoo,
All the shapes and sizes they've got -
Picking one mouth name - hard to do.

I'll check you out when you walk by.
How will your mouth rate in my eye?
