Move On Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Move On

Only with time will I move forward
Understanding that I cheated myself out of love
With the deception that played itself out
Yet I loved you more than I loved myself
Often sacrificing everything
Just to feel your presence near
Overwhelmed one with joy that surpasses almost if not entirely
All with what I've ever came into
contact with previously before you
I'd soon succumb to the emotion with which one feels for another
Surrendered completely to that with which I desired
That being the need to be cherished by another
Who may admire the adoration giving
Naive thinking resulted in endless consequences
Intrigued by your mystery associate
I'd soon after become confused and infuriated
Which opted one to move on and let go
