Music, Though So Subtle Poem by Mohammad Younus

Music, Though So Subtle

Music, though so subtle,
Yet it fills my head and heart,
Keeps me awake in the quiet time.
When it penetrates deep inside,
I withdraw from the outside world,
As if drawn inward, beyond my will.

People search for peace in quiet stillness,
But for me, each night hums like a hive of bees—
Their music fills the stillness,
And I become a quiet listener
Through the silent hours.

The bees' hum lulls me to sleep, even in wakefulness.
Their melody keeps me silent in the divine presence.
I chase this mystic sound, which calms my restless soul,
Their song wrapping me softly, like a Shahtoosh shawl.

The bees' music draws me away from Satan's path,
Steadying me, keeping me sane, reminding me of the verse:
'O believers! Seek comfort in patience and prayer.
Allah is truly with those who are patient.'
And I listen to the long, enduring Hu, patiently—
A hymn connecting me to the divine name.

This eternal sound of the sacred name
Brings spiritual ecstasy, day after day.
As I listen, divine wisdom descends upon me—
Let me rest where the divine name never ceases.
