Mutton Biryani Weds Mixed Vegetables Poem by Prem Nizar Hameed

This is something special for the day
This is not a full story
But a thread for every one to develop:
A country known as cholesterol nation
Where the ruler was King Mutton
His only son was mutton biriyani
They were very rich in calories
One day on his container journey
Biriyani met the mixed vegetables,
A beautiful girl but poor in calories
They loved each other like Salim
And Anarkali
That was why the King Mutton
Was rocked like Akbar in Mughal-e-azam
When the news of love affair was spread out.
He screamed in the palace:
Biriyani, you are the one who is supposed
To maintain our cholesterol lineage
But the biriyani was adamant
He wanted to get rid of his fatty life
For living a healthy one with mixed veggie
They eloped at one night

The King’s honour was shattered
And he finally decided to eliminate the veggie
By giving a quotation to Kabab House
The Kabab House sent two hired killers,
Boti kabab and chicken Tandoor,
To safeguard the King’s honour

At any time the couple would be
Barbecued or sent into tandoori ovens
Biriyani and veggie knocked at
the door of Indian cuisine,
where they secretly got married

Time went by
Their first child was born
They happily named it:
VEGETABLE PULAV
