My Angel And Me Poem by Trevor McLeod

My Angel And Me

As I pass under a tree
I happen to glance up
and imagine to my surprise
I see an angel sitting there
she didn't notice me
so I pause and admire
this beautiful being
I think I am hidden
but when I see her smile
I know I have been found
I worry that I may have wronged
I quickly stammer an apology
as I turned to run
I hear her voice
a gentle sound
like the sigh of love
on a warm summer evenning
between lovers
I pause and turn to see
the angel standing right behind me
she need not speak again
just offering her hand
guiding me back to the tree
pushing me down she smiles down at me
and I can't help but smile with her
she settles next to me
my breath catches
as her head rests on my shoulder
feeling bold my hand moves over
and takes the hand of the angel
intertwining fingers as we sit there
watching the clouds drift slowly by
we sigh together
the sigh that sounds like the sigh
shared by lovers
on a warm summer evening
My angel and I
