My Archive Poem by Phil Soar

My Archive

In rooms where I no longer go
Archived in boxes
Life's tales and mysteries
Locked away alphabetically
For someone to find
Later.

Dreams and notes from the past
Images I may have forgotten
Sounds recorded on tape
To be replayed
Repeating my thoughts
Memories

Silver linings embroidered
On a backdrop of linen
A skill no-one knew I had
Rhymes no-one knew I'd written
To loved ones
Secrets

Not hidden, just waiting
In a room of cobwebs and dust
Not an attic, but a study,
Where I would sit
Contemplating endless words
Emotions

Whoever reads them will see
A side of me that was lost
That was never shared
Thoughts that were locked away
Until that moment
I pass.
