My Ark Had Splintered

My ark had splintered
So it seemed to me
And covenants seemed lost at sea
And all my weeping comprised the Flood
As the dove returned with no branches.
What can it signify
Lord, my God
I feel so asunder
Who once was alive
I feel not bewept
But drifting here
What has become
Of the beautiful year
But light from the dark clouds
Rained down on me
Said, mercy, child. mercies
Are ever with thee.
