My B And W Abstracts Poem by Sergio Savioli

My B And W Abstracts

...and what are we
if not a tiny point in the vast cosmos
a tiny point that is nothing other than a little nib
a little brush tip that can create or depict a world if we wish
a stroke here, a swirl there
squirming, twisting
hitting that great space
with rough, tough, soft, gentle lines
growing and hatching plots in the b/w art
that is twirled and twisted by the nib
dashed and bent by the brush
interesting how things are always plain and straight forward
when seen in b/w
set down and on record
carefully designed
and the party lines can even look fun sometimes
bursting, nestling, stuttering, sagging and soaring
across the pure cellulose
lining up or down
outlining and inlining
maybe waving
maybe drowning
designing
divining...
