My Best Yet Poem by Samuel Segun Toluwalase

My Best Yet

From the day we met, i wondered about your eyes
I wondered so long about the also about your smiles
I wanted to come through and say Hello Sweetie
But my attention taken away by your talkie friends, petty.

The days passed and my mind carried along the reason for the stay
I know at some point i had asked myself if i may
If i may say, you are beautiful
But i guess my mouth was in jokes, a mouthfull

So days turned into weeks and weeks into months
And months into years till the feeling settles that hunts
I looked into your eyes now and knew one time or the other it was coming baby
You too could agree, My Lady

I have got a high tolerance for beauty things
But this thick skin, has given way to all your good things
I love the feeling that takes the warmth in your smile
I love the feeling that makes the your kisses last a mile

Our love will keep the candles lit all night
Up and again till the morning light
So i intend to give you my best
And thats all i have got, My Best Yet

I love you and there is no end
You deserve to be beautiful till the very end
I will keep things so baby
We will soar the mountains and be the center of the athlantic, Maybe

Till we grow Old.
