My Birthday With My Black Puppy Poem by Meg Harrison

My Birthday With My Black Puppy

She was a mutt
and her fur was black but
her name was Kimba
I told my mom my friend had a puppy
it was the runt of litter and a black puppy
and the puppy was so cute then I went upstairs
then I came back downstairs
my mom told me you can have the puppy for your birthday.

So kimba was a mutt
and her fur was black but
kimba had tan spots over eyes
she looked like a german shepherd
she had white paws, The tail of a collie
was like a weapon such as a whip, I felt it but it did not hurt.
I was thirteen when I got Kimba and I felt jolly.

My birthday is coming up
On March twenty second and I am thinking of my black pup.
This dog stayed with me
When I was sick alone in house.
She looked at me with such expression
To let me know that I was acting different
Somehow I got that impression.

One day, I yelled Kimba you can not go outside
My shoes are not on my feet
She watched me until my laces were tied.
Every time I put my shoes on.
Kimba remembered she could go outside.

Kimba turned her body around fast in my room
Next to my bed then lie down with a loud boom.
It was her way to wake me up.
My birthday is coming up
On March twenty second and I am thinking of my black pup.

I went away to the beach
While I was gone she was dying
My brother kept her in his reach.
She waited for me to come to the house.
Before my mom said we had to take her to the vet.
I was playing the frolicsome twosome on the piano.
Kimba came next to me with sad eyes
We both had the feeling of please not yet.
She waited for me with a last goodbye then Kimba had to go.
I will be 45 now that my birthday is coming up.
I was about the age of 25 when I lost my black pup.
My birthday is coming up on March twenty second
and kimba wins first prize for being my own dog and a great pup.
