On the seashore
I walked slowly
looking at colours
of the setting sun
falling on the waves,
gold, blue, red, crimson.
Suddently the senses
got sharpened.
The birdsong klinging
in my ears, a joy that
I never felt before
thrilled my inner being.
The coconut trees,
the flushy leaves
spreading in
slow movement,
the setting sun,
a singing and
wing-swinging lark
and the veil of dusk
that fell on everything
overwhelms me with
a terrifying sense
of the divine presence.
That evening
my consciousness
awakened
to another
existential dimension.
