The demons haunt me at night
Their whispers echo in the night
I ache for a peaceful sleep
Come morning,
comes a new battle
Will I have the strength to conquer them today?
I must succeed
and not let my fears imprison me
Yet I lose sight of the courage that got me this far
and ponder on defeat
Comrades that have abandoned my side
Wounds, scarred over many times
I see the demons scurrying up ahead
Their screams, only in my head
I breathe deep in preparation
Shall I call out for my comrades assistance?
No, not today
They need not be troubled with my own burdens
