My Doctrine Poem by Randy McClave

My Doctrine

I don't drink alcohol or smoke or chew
Because the Lord doesn't want me to,
And I don't ever swear or cuss or curse
All that does is make your life worse.
I don't own or carry a rifle or a gun
Because I'm not scared or a coward or afraid of anyone,
And at night I always say a prayer
Because I know that God is always there.
I will always help others and I will always give
And I believe happily everyone has a right to live,
And I don't hate or judge anyone because of their belief or skin
In my life I will always allow anyone in.
If you're an immigrant or a foreigner in my land
I'd be happy to meet you as I will proudly shake your hand,
Because that too the Bible does teach
And that too my Lord Jesus did preach.
I will not ever lie or steal or use or cheat
Nor will I break promises or judge others that I meet,
And to complete my soul and it's spiritual search
Every Wednesday and Sunday I go to church.
