My Father Poem by Lacie Hebert

My Father

Rating: 5.0

he still thinks about her
even after all these years
everytime a memory comes around
he tries to hold back the tears

he knows she has moved on
but an occasional phone call makes his day
and if she doesnt call tonight
he cries on the pillow where she once lay

he has been really strong
for the daughter they have together
the one and only memory he has
of what he thought would last forever

god knows he loves them both
but he has lost so many in his life
and he wonders is this all he has
because life just hasn't been treating him right

as he awakes each and every morning
he keeps this one thing in his mind
just maybe she still loves him
and she'll say it to him in a short time

his father has passed away
his mother, he feels is all he has left
and some pictures & old memories
in his mind & heart tightly kept

so for now he lives for lacie
the 1 and only daughter he has
and he hopes that all these fellings
will someday, somehow all just past

as far as for janet all that he ask
is for a simple phone call
to only remind him
of what they once had
