My First Day At School Poem by Tshepo Njomeni

My first day at school
I remember my first day at school as if it was yesterday
I felt shaking, heart beating fast, and tears roll down my face
I was also scared and nervous of all new thing that I don't know
I had to adapt the new environment
I didn't want to let my mom's hand, and leave
I remember seeing the classroom full of little kids, some were crying while others playing around the classroom with toys
I kept crying but eventually my teacher consoled me
I also got distracted with toys and stop crying
I started to talk, playing with other kids and having friends
During first break, I was starting to miss my mom, so I got teary-eyed
It was hard for me to go through the rest of the day without crying

Our lives are full of different experiences and surprises
The atmosphere completely changes everything in life
Being out of your comfort zone it's not an easy thing
It gave me memorable feeling and emotion that I can never forget
However, my first day at school shows me how life it is as a person
Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see life with a clear view
Building a trust and become a strong individual
In life new thing or worries is a start
You don't have to be strong all the time
