My Forever Shining Star Poem by Isabella Night

My Forever Shining Star

I made a promise I plan to keep.
Though you mustn't expect me to not weep.
I regret not seeing you through.
For Grandpa, you always loved me full and true.
I write this with a weary heart;
Saddened we are so far apart.
All those days I remember alike.
Even the days you spent with me on my little red trike.
You were always there, through all the ages;
Time flipping by like Grandma's books and their pages.
I hope you are in peace under your angel's wings,
And feasting in Heaven with the Lord like kings.
You won the battle, but not the war.
As my hero was lost, I collapsed onto the floor.
I wish I could've seen your last momens to shine.
Yet my final goodbye is in his one line:
I will forever and always be your munchkin.
