My Friend Poem by Randy McClave

My Friend

Rating: 5.0

What if your friend was gone tomorrow
And you never told them how you felt,
Would your soul be wrapped up in sorrow
If at their coffin you knelt.
Never again would you hear their voice,
And of course, that was your choice.

What if never again you saw your friend's face
And you never told them how they were special to you,
Never again would you feel their warm embrace
They are now gone, without a clue.
Not once to them did you say that you care,
But, now you do it constantly in a prayer.

What if you never told your friend that you were sorry
For a sin or a lie that you had done
Now you have to look up at the sky so starry
Knowing In heaven that their new beginning has begun.
Now you know sadly enough that it's to late,
And to see your friend ever again, it will be a debate.

I want you to know that you are in my thoughts
Especially through these very questionable times,
Worries and troubles and woes we have lots
But, being rude and aloof are the true crimes.
I still remember the joy and love that was brought,
Tomorrow, my friend I will tell you that I haven't forgot.
