My Frozen Body Poem by Caroline Noonan

My Frozen Body

Rating: 5.0

MY FROZEN BODY

I didn't know that I lay frozen
Alone and covered in ice
Unable to move my limbs, speak my voice,
Express myself
I was not even aware that I was frozen.

And then you showed up….

The ice began to melt
My cheeks, flesh, and lips filled with color
My body began to move
I was free and vibrant
We drank each other in
Danced and laughed
We roamed the earth
We played hide and seek
And when we found each other
We held each other close
We kissed
This was/is Bliss

Suddenly, you disappeared
I couldn't see you, I couldn't feel you
I frantically searched
But never found
This was not a game
Time passed and the colors began to fade
It got cold
So cold
Ice began to form, layer upon layer
Covering and thickening around my body
I am trapped and frozen again
Only This Time
I AM AWARE
