My Hand Poem by Elton Dean

My Hand

The sun will rise and throw the moon into exile,
We all sit here in the shadows,
And we let the world turn until it’s time to leave.
Dreams can turn to dust if left alone.

The river will still flow to the seas of hope,
And the sands of time will still blow in the wind,
The trees will still branch out to the sky,
And clouds will bring the unwanted rain.

We all have our place to stand,
To make the most of what we have.
The feelings we have stay in our hearts,
And the memories will be moulded into our being.

Life is to love.
Love is the peace we all search for,
For we do not walk alone,
I give you my hand.
