My Heart Is Like Poem by Huseyin Abudharr Ali Diakides

My Heart Is Like

My heart is like fire, πŸ”₯❀
It burns with an uncontrollable passion,
Nothing can extinguish my raging dreams,
As I put forth my burning desires from theories into action,
How can I douse such a passion,
When I see how much of the World needs to change?
So, I burn the oil lamp throughout the night like Garvey,
And the fire in my heart continues to blaze.

My heart is like wind, πŸ’¨πŸ€
I move forward like a ninja, invisible but deadly,
I never cared for the fame only the cause,
Stay humble, but still cannot escape the envy.
I breath the movement like it is the air,
And like the wind pushes the air I must push the cause,
But I accept any victory comes solely from Allah,
I am simply a man, one of His creations and no more.

My heart is like ice, β„πŸ’œ
Cold because of the environment of my experience,
Betrayed, heartbroken, deceived and confused,
That it takes a lot for me to trust new friends.
My heart cracked in two like the ice on a lake,
And I was stuck between the shards knowing not what to do,
So, for protection I surrounded it with a wall of ice,
As my warm red heart turned cold and blue.

My heart is like lightning, βš‘πŸ’›
It can strike the World with such a furious roar,
With fifty-thousand volts of electricity,
Striking down on those with whom I war.
Such energy could be used to control machines,
If I could just learn to control the anger which I evoke,
I could conduct it into something constructive,
Lighting the darkness in the streets of the Big Smoke.

My heart is like water, πŸ’¦πŸ’™
No matter my surroundings I shall adapt,
It tries to stay balanced and patient,
But just like a tidal wave sometimes I react.
For there can be no balance without justice,
And Islam tells us to find the middle way,
So, I refuse to drown within the injustice,
And fight with an ocean of love to create change.

My heart is like the earth, πŸŒ³πŸ’š
For You came along and planted within it a seed,
And that seed of love has grown into a jungle,
Within which I am lost and cannot be freed.
When I was high You brought me down to Earth
And my love for You just grew and grew.
Just like my body must one day return to the earth,
Ya Allah, my heart will always return to You!
