My Hopes Are Filled By The Most Gracious Poem by Mohammad Younus

My Hopes Are Filled By The Most Gracious

My hopes are filled by the Most Generous,
A love beyond what I can ever give.
Asks little for the mercy showered on me,
Calms my chaotic mind, brings me peace.
My restless nafs, rebelling, whispers low,
Yet by His grace, I find my way again,
To act without sin's dark stain upon my soul.

He shapes me into a soldier bold,
Relentless in the battle, foes subdued,
To bring them to submission in the end.
A soul with will so strong, the soldier fights,
A war within my mind for peace at heart,
To stand unashamed on that final day
Before my Lord when reckoning is due.

Does He clear the field of every foe?
No naive fighter, versed in strategy,
Prepared for battles new and old alike.
My soldier fights without an end in sight,
For comfort and the peace my soul desires.
