My Jinn Poem by Liza Sud

My Jinn

My jinn from a book has emerged,
and my jinn was reaching the sky.
my jinn was talking about love
and showed a salvational cross.

My jinn lived in Sura, the North,
But with him it's warm like in desert,
and from egoistical cold
he's healing all people for ages.

Near him - there are colorful dresses,
Near him - there are gardens of gold,
all wishes come true in his presence,
and truthful becomes any thought.

My jinn was like glued to my eyes,
It was time of yellow- leafed autumn -
november, it was the moon's shine,
as big as the sun when it's low.

My jinn was as a white clot - cloud.
My jinn followed me everywhere.
The name of my jinn - Ioann.
I'll keep him in my mind forever!

***

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My jinn is saint John of Kronstadt
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Did you know in the Quran God tells us the Jinn have THEIR OWN Quran? Isn't that a surprise? And your poem is a surprise. I expected some twist at the end and when you named the Jinn or rather revealed the name to be Ioann for John of Krogstadt, I realized you had costumed a Christian saint in Islamic attire and found that the external appearance did not alter the altruistic actions nor the internal faith of the saint. He prevails no matter how he appears because the LIGHT OF TRUTH SHINES SO BRIGHTLY - OVER HIM, IN HIM, OUT OF HIM. This is a delightful poem, it makes me smile at the sheer blessedness of a day sanctioned by the Saint himself and the Glory he represents.
