My Life Opens Inside Of You Poem by Patti Masterman

My Life Opens Inside Of You

My life opens, inside of you
Your book closes, on my dream;
With my knife, I cut you loose;
In the mirror, you catch a gleam.

Through my eyes, you find the truth,
Loosely dangling, from a tree;
By your tongue, I say a word,
Suddenly 'I' turns into 'we'.

Through our breathing, dreaming days
Life erupts, from smoke to flames;
But a puff, then embers glow-
And soon a forest fire, enclose.
