My Longing Poem by nadi pickering

My Longing

Rating: 5.0

Memories still haunt my being with
the life we once had
Together
The love we shared and the children we beard
Cannot change my longing
oh the gods know how i miss your
tender touch
Your loving gesture
And teasing jokes.
I am now of age
With strands of silver and skin like
Old silk
Will cherish always your
Love for me through the past thirty years.
In your deepest sleep to the heavens,
please wait for my presence.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem in the middle of the night, could not sleep because the thoughts of this poem kept coming to my head, the thoughts were of my grandmother whom i was very close to, on her death bed she would talk about her husband and that his coming to take her.
I dedicated this poem to her.
