My Love's Eyes Poem by Onwuasoanya FCC Jones

My Love's Eyes

In my Love's eyes there is everlasting light,
the slightest of blindness,
the lightest of blur,
they are in a distance, never to be reached.
In my Love's eyes is the essence of purity,
like the trickles from River Euphrates.
It slakes my most ravening thirst.
It awakens my sleeping muse.
It puts the spring on my feet, tied in a quandary.
My Love's eyes harbours a glorious chastè,
in which I discover all the joys I crave.
From which flows the streams that effete my rage.
In my Love's eyes I picture paradise,
In my Love's eyes, the power of resurrection is real.
The power opening the fibres of my strength is in her gaze,
In her gaze I stand or fall, run or walk,
Whatever intent she puts it.
I am at her mercy.
