My Maryann Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

My Maryann

I have so many precious moments- Deep within my heartfelt mind
Memories of Maryann- The woman who made me cry

My Maryann, she left me- In a dream that was our life
I fell into an ocean- And there is where I died

The winds of change have long since passed- Love's sorrow left my heart
But still there is that bitter sweet- That wakes me in the dark

The name of Maryann, echoes- In the silence of our house
Her letters are still lying there- With her new last name crossed out

Sometimes I tell our story- To the Angels up above
About a promise beyond our life together- To come home still in love

I guess a dream is nothing more- Than a wish where the story ends
Left in the darkness to be remembered- For the lonely to relive

She is so very happy- With a life that should be mine
However my heart may feel- I will never make her cry

And so the dream is over- For Maryann, my dearest wife
She has gone with our forever- To dream a magical new life

My Maryann
Dear, sweet Maryann
Goodbye
