My Montana Morning Poem by Marilyn Lott

My Montana Morning

Rating: 4.5

I woke up this morning
Looked out at the new day
Serene and calm and quiet
But would it stay that way?

Will a flock of wild turkeys
Meander ‘cross the prairie land?
Strutting males showing off
For every beast and man

A lone white-tailed deer
Might roam right down the road
Seemingly with no worries
A life without a heavy load

Right now the sky is calm
As the sun rises from the hills
But what will the day bring in?
Are we in for stormy thrills?

I’m excited about my day
Ready for anything without warning
As I sit here on my twenty acres
Of my exciting Montana morning!
