My New Neighbor Poem by Terry Sakar

My New Neighbor

Country ribs,
home grown okra & baby lima beans
Oh, and cornbread
A smorgasbord of goodies
What a delicious spread!

Your culinary talents
I couldn’t compete
Your gift of the tastes of Huntington
Was a thoughtful and special treat

Thank you for inviting me in
Off the street
And offered me a cold beverage and a comfy seat
I looked and looked
Now on sterling silver I’m hooked!

We can’t wait to get moved in
So we can spend more time
With our new friends
