My Pretence Poem by Daniel Parker

My Pretence

Rating: 4.0

Tall I stand, so proud, no fear,
The will of many men,
When I speak, the world will hear,
I’m in the lion’s den,
Roar I must, my strength, unknown,
Such beings pass me by,
Yet when I sit or lie alone,
I seem to want to cry,
I act as if I cannot break,
Yet when I’m in my house,
Inside, foundations start to shake,
For I am but a mouse.
