My Sai Baba Poem by Bishnupada Sethi

My Sai Baba

When I go to sleep each night
I want all my dear ones
To be safe and sound:
With the arrival of another day
I'll see them as usual around.

I turn all my thoughts
To say a prayer to a saint
Who in his life time had assured-
He would come out of his grave
Were he to be called for any help
By his children who love him the most.

As the night would deepen
Thick fogs would cover
Villages and towns
Like thick blankets.
If ever someone needed any help
It would not be so an easy task at all.

I wake up my favourite angel
With my prayers, I believe so,
Take him along on the wings
Of my imagination,
Show him all the houses and paths
Where my loved ones are sheltered.

He reassures with a big smile
Right hand raised in his familiar style-
There's not been a single moment
That he has ever left me alone
So he will be guarding everyone right.
The sounds of his walking stick
While creating a celestial melody
With the chimes of clock
Keep the demons at bay.
