My Shadow & I Poem by RADHAKRISHNAN MUNDAYUR

My Shadow & I

My shadow and I
Play with each other
every morning
While pushing the baby walker
or prancing about the place
I try to outpace him
But nay, I never can.
"You are too small"
That's what my shadow says.
We are so similar,
He lengthens, I grow
Even our color is the same
Yet we are so different
My shadow and I.
One evening, the old fellow laughed and said,
"we will soon be one again".
Startled, I stopped nodded
and hobbled across the street.

Sometimes your shadow is taller than you, sometimes shorter, depending on the position of the sun. Interesting poem. I like it.
