My Sky Poem by Frederick Francis

My Sky

Rating: 5.0

My life is a constellation,
Darkness with points of light,
A sky of my own creation,
But not so easily in sight.

Imagine if life were laid out
Like that ocean over head.
In it I’d drown doubt
And live with faith instead.

If you find your self a drift
Where the darkness extends past far,
The tide will always shift
And carry you to the next star.

If you find your self defeated
By the long awaited light
Please don’t think you’re cheated,
Swimming through life takes might.

But if in this darkness you’ve decided
That you’ll never again see light,
Then by your own finger be guided
As you trace the stars at night.
