My Something Poem by Rachel Brewer

We all need something to believe in.
We all need something to keep us going.
We need inspiration,
And we need hope.
In the darkness of the world,
And through the suffering we all eventually face,
We need something.
Don’t ask me what it is though.
Because I haven’t found it yet.

I’m still lost and wandering within myself,
And so far, I haven’t found a way out.
A way to break through all the pain,
And make something of myself that I can be proud of.
I’m still wandering, and I will be forever,
Until I find that something.

I need to find something in my life,
That I can cherish and love,
And have forever.
Because after all the pain, we have to hold on to survive.
And I want to hold on to you.
Whoever you are,
The man I will be true to,
And the man who sets me free.

So you will be my something,
I will believe in you,
That you exist.
So when I escape the perils of my mind,
I can find you,
Love you,
And be forever safe.
