My Special Me Poem by Alice Cordy

My Special Me

I‘m her little frog,
unable to sit still on a log.
Always hoping and bounding around,
don’t know how to slow down.
Telling me to take care of myself,
as I will, knowing I have ME as my elf.
One that cares more than just me,
which I am proud of having you as my ME.

My ME wouldn’t want me any other way,
even though I would love ME to stay.
No matter how far or near,
ME will be always ever dear.

We can talk about our universe,
knowing that we’re not going to criticise.
Always telling the truth,
nothing except that from our mouths.
Never afraid to say things,
no matter how many tears it brings.
But out of love,
even with the boxing gloves.
It was hard to say and hard to hear
but ever so dear,
that we cared enough to speak up.

Through hard times, thick and thin,
ME knew how to make me grin.
No matter how much I wanted to get into a brawl,
you’re always the first person I want to call.
Even behind all the pain and tears,
I know ME will be with me throughout my years.

Your wonderful advice you have given,
has been my driven.
To where I am today,
as your guidance has helped my way.
When my spirits needed a lift,
I treasure our friendship as a gift.
You fill my life with beauty joy and grace,
making my world we live in a better and happier place.

I will always have time,
for my special ME.
As I have a special friend,
to my life very end.
