Beyond Our Resting Grave Poem by Alice Cordy

Beyond Our Resting Grave

Rating: 4.8

Delete me from your life
As I have caused you so much strife.
Wondering where your heart belongs
As I have caused you so much wrong.

You deserve so much better,
So forget all my love letters
They are only words put on paper
As you know I have a bit of a temper

I'm not worth knowing,
It's defiantly in the showing.
So look deep down and you will see
The truth is lying within thee.
Open your eyes, forget the tears
As your better off without the fears.

Our love was once strong
I've destroyed our heart song.
A beat like no other
Something I feel we cannot recover.

Words comes from our mouth
Not knowing anymore what's the truth
Are they words of love or pain
As a dove flies for cover from the rain.

So forget me and live your life to the most
And prepare to raise your glass to a toast.
Friendship we'll always have,
Beyond our resting grave.

I commend your talent for coming up with well articulated poems with lovely rhyme scheme. It's not usually easy to create beautiful rhyme patterns while retaining coherence of thought. Thanks for sharing.

A great line, I've destroyed our heart song Just think of all the time and emotion in those love letters. A book of love letters would be an idea. Thank you Alice hope your heart is shining

A wonderful piece for clearly an old friend you still care about and truly do still love very much. I share in those feelings and sentiment with you. A 10 for sure. Reached deep. A painful and very touching poem. Not painful in a bad though.
