My Starry-Eyed Sylph! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

My Starry-Eyed Sylph!

Hark my sweet sylph! Your fears and doubts to allay
I sang a lively love-assuring lay.
With all humbleness, for your joy, I did pray.
But your charming queen not a word did convey.

You thought of me as a meddler in your life
and you failed to soothe my hurt heart in strife.
You bade bye as you aren't fit to play the fife
and for your swank ways, acclaim wasn't rife.

Tell me dear to bring the nectar from the sky
and through the spheres of welkinI'll fly.
If smiles in your face, don't go dry,
I'll rain songs of my heart, though I'm shy.

Your outstanding features in my mind I cherish
and if I can't make you hale and hearty, I'll perish.
