My Superman Poem by Jessica Thomas

My Superman

I really miss you with this I start
I truly loved you with all my heart
Many times in my youth I could never understand
Why only one last chance to touch your hand?
It felt so lifeless and so cold
When you left us you were old
How can I still be so sad?
You were the greatest granddad
In my world my heart's steady achin'
Wondering why were you taken
I wish I could give you one last hug
Go back to the days, on your arm I'd tug
You were my superman coming to the rescue
Why is it that these days I really miss you?
I know you're in heaven pouring love down on me
In my heart and soul you will always be
I can take the pain no more
Will I get over this, only God knows
Grandpa please give me a sign
So maybe I can quit this cryin'.
