Like a meteor in the sky,
You came,
Flying right into my life,
And, out of it in no time.
Turning in moments,
Moments too brief,
My life, forever a celebration,
Into a dark shadow of grief.
But, missed, you shall not be,
My dear,
For, there burns in my self,
A flickering flame,
That keeps me sane,
And,
That makes this wreck exhale and inhale
As I dig my own grave,
With an epitaph that reads,
“ONE WHO LOVETH FOREVER”
This was written years ago, and the other one was written recently.
:) You used great use of the stanza though... With the following parts, both the poems have a similar yet very different meaning :)
'Like a meteor in the sky, You came, Flying right into my life, And, out of it in no time. Turning in moments, Moments too brief, My life, forever a celebration, Into a dark shadow of grief.' ___________________ 'Like a meteor in the sky, You came, Flying right into my life, And, out of it in no time. Turning in moments, Moments too brief, My life, forever a celebration, Into a dark shadow of grief.' Interesting... You used these identical stanzas, in this poem and your other poem 'Yours No More'.. But the following parts made the differences... Well thought out poems Alokendra.. You certainly have a talent to write about similar experiences from a different light and that is interesting.. Thank you for your poems.. Welcome to Poemhunter btw :)
