My Wildflower Poem by Rob Lamberton

My Wildflower

Rating: 5.0

I will phlox to you
O' you are my shooting star
My desert parsley
Soft as downey painted cup
I touch your silky lupin

My wild iris
I syringa songs of joy
I marsh felwart
Spurge not your leafy fleabane
Bitterbrush on my hawk's beard

O' dew of watercress
O' rocky mountain clifton
My serviceberry
Salsify my dandelion
Five-needle fetid marigold

A celebration of the beloved's natural, untamed beauty and the speaker's deep affection! Through clever wordplay and botanical imagery, it portrays love as something organic, enduring, and rooted in the living earth!
