My Words Poem by Julie West

My Words

Rating: 5.0

Here we are
Here we were
Here we could've been
Here I take one last breath before I say a word

Hear me now
Or hear me never
What difference will it make?

Here I am beside you
But here my words will stay
For I will never say
What I meant to say
That fateful day

Whispers call me in the moonlit night
Telling me if I think I'm right
I say yes
I say no
Because here my words will stay
So one day I won't be the blame
Of breaking what's left of you
For keeping a lie that is beneath a truth

So here my words will stay
For I will never say
What I meant to say
That fateful day...
