Worth While Poem by Julie West

Worth While

I gave you something worth while
I gave you a friendship that made you smile
But the double dagger of a reason hid
Behind the lies of your creeping chuckles

You ‘’showed’’ you cared
Now you say: ‘’I was never your friend’’
I wonder whatever happened to that bond we shared…
Now I guess you only want to reach an end

I’m sorry for breaking what’s left of you
But I’m not even to blame
Your immaturity is exaggerating
Since you only act like you wish to die without even facing reason or shame

And now I ask myself why I am so caught up in fixing these broken ties
Letting these lies tangle me up
Letting this stupidity ruin my own smile
So I just came to realize you just made this the opposite of worth while.
