Myself + My Heart - Poem by Hasan Ali

The day you left me
I left you as well
clutched the heart you cut deep
promised to nurse him back to health

And when I said goodbye
and you forgot to turn and look
well my heart forgot to cry
and he promised we'd get through this
though he was a little shook

Six seasons have since passed
and we must confess we forgot you
and now you return and it is you who cannot grasp
that we'd rather not try our hand at taming the shrew

And now you look at me teary eyed
you're trying to turn the trick on me, you think I can't tell?
There's no point in crying dear, please don't start to cry
take my advice dear and find a heart yourself.
