Mystery Caller Poem by Margaret O Driscoll

Mystery Caller

Rating: 4.5

Early every morning,
at the doorway a knocking sound
Too early for the postman,
so who on earth is around

Bleary-eyed I get up each time
to go to the door and see
No one is around at all,
things are as they should be

More urgent tapping next morning,
Exasperated I go and check
A great tit is by the hall window
furiously going, peck, peck, peck!
