Mystic moves in a mysterious way;
He wanders and wonders to know;
He plants his footsteps in the desert,
And rides upon the sand storm;
Deep in unfathomable seas,
Of never-unfolding mysteries,
He treasures up more and more,
His precious bright pearls,
Of knowledge and wisdom;
And works to know,
What is sov'reign will?
He undaunted goes on travelling,
With fresh courage, and love,
To know the hidden mysteries;
The sandstorms he dreads not;
He knows they blow with big mercy,
And hopes shall not stop,
His way to Mecca, the house of God!
Feeling the blessings of his Lord,
On his head, and in his heart,
He judges not the being of the Lord,
By feeble sense of reason and logic;
But trusts Him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence،
He recognises,
The merciful Lord hides a smiling face;
His purpose to know the reality,
Steadily and gradually ripens,
Unfolding mysteries ev'ry hour;
The collected nectar from flowers,
Have a bitter taste,
But sweet is its fruit - the sweet honey!
Blind belief and superstitions,
He knows, is sure,
Lead one astray from the truth real;
God is Himself his own real interpreter,
He makes the mysteries to him plain.
