Narcissus And Echo Poem by Ima Ryma

Narcissus And Echo

Young Narcissus with beauty of'
Such, young Echo met and did yearn,
And with him fell deeply in love.
But her love Narcissus did spurn,
Causing Echo to fade away.
Then Narcissus saw in a pool
His reflection, he had to stay
In love with himself as a fool.
After a while he turned into
A lovely flower, gold and white.
All a Greek myth but could be true
When love turns wrong instead of right.

Perhaps when breezes are around,
Narcissus hears Echo's faint sound.
