National Guard Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

National Guard

National Guard

I am guest of sunlight
With breeze, it is fun…

Breakfast, warm bread
Feta cheese and the veg…

Different from past
But still, is okay…

Living in free world
Feel obliged to know more,
Need news and knowledge
About world, our neighbour
And White House incident!

My eyes on camera
Camera is my eye
Angry, sit and watch.

See hell with slogans,
Fireworks and shotguns,
"Is this the free world? "

Already am tired
Of such a freedom,
Prefer the four walls,
Or grave or madhouse!

Better be unaware,
Ignorance is bliss.

The fires and bullets
To me are like mirror
Remember revolt days
Of Nineteen-seventy-
Nine...

Officer and teacher,
Went to teach students,
Those would be officers
In largest Air Force Base…

That day comes in today!

Saw the guard at the door,
Soldiers and commanders,
Shielded and well covered.

Painted is some dogfight.

See the dogs on both sides
But which one is the right?

Go through the check ups
They checked my ID card,
Students rush to me…

"You know sir? "

Do not know…

In my hand rests paper
With a note and reference:
"Rejected curfew commander! "

"So, they are related…"
"A whisper is remained
From what was fire! "

Hear of general and last night:
"Arrested eight of us…"

None has shaved, organised
I ask them: "Did you call…? "

"No, not Sir,
Not, because Iron Guard,
Barred us, did not allow!

A bullet kills a guard
Then surface hooligans
I see pools of blood
That brings the shah down,
Is White House in Tehran?
