Nature Life Scent Trails Poem by Terence George Craddock

Nature Life Scent Trails

watch a dog a wild animal on a scent trail
dogs wild animals read scent trails
dogs many wild animals possess
vast nose insights into smell scent world
read scent trails signs many time signs written into ground
dog animals busy nose to ground
but prey predators have ears listening eyes watching
even hairs on body listen to wind air pressure signs

dogs wild animals move in time past scent movement trails
dogs wild animals hunt out scent trails curiosity scent trails
but dogs wild animals move in focus predetermined moments

move with nose ears eyes awareness
knowing nature beauty stealth harsh rules
in prey predator interactive ecosystems

wild animals know predators have a long reach
know camouflage distances keep an eye to edges
keep an eye to sky for wing leap lethal sudden strikes

nature does not always forgive with second chances
