Nature's Own Poem by Heather Delhom

Nature's Own

Furs-
Rabbit, Mink, Fox
Soft, Beautiful
Expensive.

Take it home-
Wear it out to some nice place.
Take it off-
Notice clothes have bright red spots.

Look at the floor-
A bloody trail has followed you home.
The hanging fur is deep stained red-
A bloody pool dripping on the floor.

The fur you wore was not your own
A sacrifice-unpleasant
To give you charm.

Leave the fur where it belongs
Or give your skin
To nature-for them.
